The San Francisco Bay Area has a burgeoning collection of jazz instructional and educational resources -- some of which have been instrumental in the formation of our group. Among them are:
  • Berkeley Jazz Workshop
    Hosted by Clark Suprynowicz, offers a relaxed and supportive playing environment for players of all levels, culminating in periodic group recitals that are always loads of fun. Clark is an accomplished composer and bass player in his own right as well.

  • Blue Bear School of American Music
    This venerable San Francisco institution, located in scenic Ft. Mason, focuses primarily on rock and blues, but offers a respectable jazz workshop, most recently taught by Jeremy Cohen.

  • The JazzSchool
    In Berkeley, offers a wide range of classes and workshops. Faculty includes some of the best players in the Bay Area, in an approachable and cosmopolitan environment. Class & faculty recitals enrich the program on a regular basis.

  • JazzCampWest
    ...will change your life. Offered annually as a week-long retreat among the beautiful lost redwoods of southern San Mateo County.
